Outbound APIs

Outbound API Basics

The DPS Outbound APIs contain messages that are delivered by DPS, in near real-time, to the endpoints you host on your system. DPS Outbound APIs are triggered by external events either initiated by a cardholder interacting with their digital wallet or with maintenance events related to your card and account records.

These APIs enable access to:

  • Visa Token Cardholder Verification Methods
  • Visa Token Send Passcode
  • Visa Token Retrieve Cardholder Profile (limited availability)
  • Card and Account Event Notifications (limited availability)

The DPS Outbound APIs are restricted APIs. To request access to the APIs and detailed specifications under API Reference, work with your Visa DPS Implementation Manager.

How to Integrate

The DPS Outbound APIs need to be integrated with endpoints hosted on your system. For more information on how to configure your outbound endpoints, see the Outbound Configuration page for details. For further support, work with your Visa DPS Implementation Manager.
