Token Gateway Service (TGS)
Offering secure tokenization to e-commerce merchants, issuers, wallet providers etc. TGS offers the following:
- Support e-commerce/card on file use cases
- Unified API for token requestors
- Flexible Token Lifecyle Management
- Integrate with all leading network TSPs
- PCI Tokenization Fall Back
- Customer Service Portal
- Secure storage
- Unified Token Requestor Onboarding API
Key Features
Supports card-on-file/e-commerce
Removes the need for merchants to store PANs through the use of secure tokenization. Also offers token requestors the option to integrate with Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
Unified API to multiple TSPs
Token requestors can request and manage tokens from multiple network TSPs using one single interface. PCI tokenization can be used as a fall-back option.
Customer Service Portal
Enables call-centre employees to view tokens (by searching with a PAN, phone number, email etc) and their transactions. Can be used for Lifecycle Management.
Why Use It?
Token Gateway Service enables merchants, issuers, wallet providers etc. to request and manage tokens from multiple Token Service Providers (TSPs) using one single interface. This enables them to process transactions securely and limit exposure of payment credentials.
How Does It Work?
Token Gateway Service provides a number of APIs. The scenarios supported and exact implementation determine their relevance.
The APIs enable token requestors and issuers to connect with multiple TSPs using one single interface. Additionally, TGS can connect to Payment Service Providers (PSPs) for transaction processing.
APIs Included
Token Requestor API - E-commerce scenario
Enables e-commerce merchants to request and manage tokens from multiple TSPs. It can also be used for asset management and retrieving payment bundles and transaction history
Token Requestor API - HCE scenario
Enables HCE wallet providers to request and manage tokens from multiple TSPs. It can also be used for asset management and retrieving payment bundles and transaction history
Token Requestor Onboarding API
The TR Onboarding API enables a token requestor token service provider (TR-TSP) to onboard their token requestors (e.g. merchants) to scheme token service providers (TSPs). The TGS TR Onboarding API uses the TR supplied information to onboard the TR onto TGS and the relevant TSPs.
