The VAU Merchant Enrollment API automates the merchant enrollment process in real time when all the required information is provided and considerably saves several days to process paper-based form.

The API enables real time screening of AML or OFAC checks for non-US merchants and enrolls in real time.

How It Works
Acquirer Initiates API Request
Acquirer invokes secure VAU Merchant Enrollment API to enroll merchant(s) in VAU.
Visa Validation
Visa validates the acquirer sending the API request and routes the request to VAU.
VAU Enrolls Merchants
VAU processes the client request and enrolls merchants
VAU Returns Response
Visa returns responses with a possibility of 3 statuses – Success (all merchants enrolled), merchants rejected and in-progress merchants.

Test in the sandbox
- Visa Account Updater Merchant Enrollment API can be used by the developers in the sandbox supporting acquirers or processors who are already enrolled in VAU.
- The developers can download the test cases from the project dashboard within Assets
Production Usage: Invoke the API
- Invoke the API with a single merchant or up to 100 merchants to enroll in VAU
- The API can enroll US merchant and non-US merchants in real time assuming all the input is provided
- The API returns success or rejected or ‘In-Progress’ status that requires additional research
Use VAU Merchant Search API for In-Progress status check
- Use VAU Merchant Search API to check the outcome from previous enrollment.
- To check the updated status of “Inprogress” merchants, VAU Merchant Search API can be used.
- This API can also be used to check the enrollment status of the merchants.
