Detect and identify a breach early in its lifecycle
Visa Threat Intelligence (VTI) helps organizations determine if they have been the victim of a security breach. Breaches often occur many months prior to observable fraud activity. By detecting and identifying a breach early in its lifecycle, merchants and service providers can prevent and/or mitigate fraud activity before it occurs. VTI’s actionable data also enables organizations to develop proactive defense strategies against known threats and avoid future breaches.

Why Use It?
VTI’s actionable data enables organizations to develop proactive defense strategies against known threats and avoid future breaches.
- Visa Threat Intelligence’s Indicators of Compromise (IoCs) are based on Visa’s visibility into payments data and our analysis of fraud events globally.
- Visa’s IoCs are payments-focused and unique – 85% are not found in any other leading threat intelligence tool.1
- False positives are minimized due to Visa’s risk and fraud vetting process.
- Merchants can dramatically reduce breach identification time.2
- Visa’s IoCs are effective for small and mid-sized network and security teams – in addition to larger, highly sophisticated security operation centers.
How Does It Work?
Visa is committed to maintaining payment system security. When fraud does occur, Visa’s risk and fraud teams work with merchants and financial institutions to collect and analyze TTPs (Tactics, Techniques & Procedures) used by crime organizations during a breach that likely occurred months before the fraud.
