Get communications up and running. As we know, TGS aggregates multiple Network Tokenization Providers (Network TSPs) with a single connection. During this stage, we will onboard each token service provider and ensure all required notifications are working. This stage typically takes time as each Network TSP (VTS, MDES, AETS etc.) will be relied on to return Token Requestor IDs (TRID). On our end, Token ID will map Network TSP TRIDs to TGS TRIDs so TGS can request tokens on your behalf.

Onboarding Tasks

  • Develop Use Cases
Using the provided Token ID Scheme Test Plan file, identify and develop use cases for your web service client. This process can be lengthy, and we recommend beginning earlier rather than later. If you have questions or issues, email your CIL, or bring them to the weekly meeting. This step can be completed in tandem with Stage 2.

  • Obtain Token Requestor (TR) Information
Onboard Network TSPs by filling in the TGS TRID onboarding template located in your welcome package. This process can take up to ten days. If your organization represents multiple token requestors, the process must be replicated for each. This step can be completed in tandem with Stage 2.

  • Connect to TR API
Using the onboarding API specifications and implementation guide, connect and test your integration with the TR API for each merchant. If you haven’t already, begin developing your web service client.

  • Provide Notification URL(s) and Certificate
If you would like to receive notifications, provide the URL to where TGS must send notifications, as well as your service (intermediate) certificate to your CIL. For example, if a token status is changed by the issuer.

  • Whitelist TGS IP Address
Avoid firewall complications. Configure your organization’s firewall to allow TGS notifications from these addresses: 198.241.168.15 and 198.241.162.104.

  • Obtain Your TRID(s)
Following the submission of token requestor information, each Network TSP will return a TRID. Turnaround times will vary depending on each Network TSP. The TR Onboarding API enables you to automate this process. For CTE purposes, you will only need to test a few merchants. Your CIL will return to you the relevant TGS TRID(s).

Way To Go!

Your CIL will inform you when everything is configured. When all is well, you are ready for testing.

What are Network Tokenization Service Providers?

Network Token Service Providers (Network TSPs) provide tokens when requested. Network TSPs currently supported include Visa (VTS), Mastercard (MDES), and American Express (AETS).
